B-team stuns St.Joes 1

Championship repeat, the Drexel B-team came into Sunday's game against
St. Joe's 1 with a distinct mission. For two periods, it looked as if
both teams were squarely matched, as the score was knotted at 2-2,
heading into the third period. Eric Lui and Chris Axt had the two
Dragon goals... However, the wheels came off early in the third, as the
Hawks powered in the next 3 goals - all unanswered. With just over 3
minutes left, the Dragons dug deep and scored a goal (Lui). Sensing the
Hawks were back on their heels, Vaughan Piccolo scored to bring the
Dragons to within 1. Chris Axt then deflected the tying goal in with
just over a minute to play! The game went into overtime, and a penalty
against St. Joe's left the Dragons on the powerplay. They needed all of
14 seconds for John Facas to blast a shot into the upper corner of the
net, and seal the 6-5 win! The Dragons will now face the winner of WCU1
v. WCU 2 in the semifinals.
