Robert Morris Claims Division 2 Championship!
ECRHA March 7th, 2020 at 7:26PM March 8th, 2020 1:40AMRobert Morris used a four goal first period to build a massive lead against Massachusetts and then held of a late rally to claim their first ECRHA Division 2 Championship with a 8-6 win.
Rookie of the Year Jack Clendaniel opened the scoring with back to back goals before playoff MVP Cameron Zahn scored the first of four goals in the Championship game to open a 3-0 lead. Alex Karol made it 4-0 after one period of play.
Player of the Year Trevor Shea got Massachusetts on the board early in the second period but Robert Morris was equal to the challenge, taking a 6-2 lead into the third period. Massachusetts and scored four goals in the third period, but Robert Morris got a pair from Cameron Zahn to keep the game out of reach.
Robert Morris has punched their ticket to the NCRHA National Championship in Fort Myers, FL in April where they will try to add more hardware in what has been a banner season for the club.
