As one of the primary co-founders of the club in Spring of 2003, Anthony Tsigourakos served as club President for two years until he graduated from Rutgers College in January of 2005. In 2003-2004 he was named captain of the Rutgers Division 1 team, where he lead the team in overall goals and power play goals. Pursuing a Masters Degree in Communication/Media, Tsigourakos returned for his third season as captain of the Scarlet Knights in impressive fashion. Registering career highs in goals (13) and assists (30), Tsigourakos was named to the 2006 ECRHA All Star Team. Complemented by the elite scoring touch of linemate Andrew Brodsky, Tsigourakos' playmaking abilities were seen in his team-high 30 assists. Returning for his fourth season with the club, "The Godfather" brought a great sense of leadership and confidence to the team. Tsigourakos posted career highs in goals (17) and points (44) in '06-'07 and earned his second selection to the Division 1 All Star Game. His strong play down the stretch helped Rutgers earn its third bid to Regionals in as many seasons. Although the Knights fell to URI in the quarterfinals, Tsigourakos was recognized for his efforts and was selected as an alternate to the ECRHA Regional All Star Team in Summer of 2007. |
