Shane Fox Earns Fastest Skater Crown
Dan Trunk (Breakaway) and John Whitman (Goalie)
ECRHA February 18th, 2017 at 7:19PM February 19th, 2017 4:53AMOld Bethpage, NY - A twitter poll this morning showed that not many people thought Neumann's Shane Fox had the speed to top his ECRHA record in the fastest skater competition. With more than 75% percent of respondents say NO, Shane Fox didn't take too long to prove the doubters wrong.
Fox shattered his ECRHA record of 13.91 seconds on the very first lap of the competition, clocking in at 13.71, a full two tenths of a second faster than his record. His second round time of 13.8 was still under his record pace before winning the fastest skater, a crown he was denied last year with a time of 14.8 seconds.
In the breakaway competition, it was Dan Trunk from Robert Morris who came away with the crown, beating a vast field of players from across all Divisions.
John Whitman from West Chester University, who was named a D1 All-Star this season showed he deserved the nod, turning away the most breakaways in the competition, earning him the crown of Top Goaltender.
All three players will be invited to the Annual Awards Banquet to be held of Friday March 3rd at Twining Hall in Trevose, PA, where they will receive awards commemorating their accomplishments.
