Brockport left Feasterville this past weekend with a perfect 3-0-0 record, thanks in large part to Patrick Griffin. Griffin scored 11 goals and 14 points, both league best during the weekend. In addition to scoring in bunches, Griffin was especially clutch, scoring 3 game winning goals, including the GWG in overtime against Pittsburgh.
Against Stony Brook, Griffin found the back of the net 5 times, scoring in every period. The goals proved valuable, as Stony Brook came on late, but Griffin's power play tally early in the third proved to be just enough.
The second game of the weekend saw Brockport skate past Rhode Island quite easily by a score of 8-1, while Griffin's was limited to just 3 points (2g, 1a).
The final contest of the weekend was easily the most thrilling. Griffin found the back of the net 4 times. His hat trick goal with 1:10 to play look like it was going to be the game winner, but Pittsburgh's Matt Gable tied the game with just 7 seconds remaining to force overtime. Undeterred, Griffin was able to lift Brockport to victory, scoring on a hard wrist shot just 3:23 into overtime for his third game winning goal in as many games.
