Penn State Tops Neumann 6-3

Winning Streak Hits 10 Games

Harrisburg, Pa - Dustin Roux scored 2 goals and chipped in 2 assists to lead Penn State over Neumann on Saturday night for the Nittany Lions 10th consecutive victory. 
 
Penn State got on the board first, when Dustin Roux fed Steven Nichols across the seem for a one-timer with the man advantage for an early 1-0 lead. Nichols extended the Penn State lead later in the period with his second goal of the game.

Roux capped the scoring for Penn State in the first period, burying a Adam Bogert pass into the back of the net for a commanding 3-0 lead after one.

Neumann got the start they were looking for in the second period, when Anthony Ehinger found a Johnathan Lucente rebound sitting in the crease just 17 seconds into the frame, cutting the Penn State by one. Lucente & Ehinger hooked up for the second goal of the game, this time Lucente found the back of the net to cut the lead to 3-2.

With Penn State in the box, Neumann took the opportunity to tie things up. In a pretty tic-tac-toe passing sequence, Ehinger and Lucente moved the puck along the blue line, befoer Lucente fired a cross rink pass to the back post where Justin Brown one-timed it past a sprawling Mitchell Reinhold to knot things at three apiece.

With Neumann giving Penn State all they could handle, the Nittany Lions fought back. Greg Cohen and Nicholas Sirera scored 22 seconds apart to restore Penn State to a two goal lead with 3:03 remaining in the second period.

Penn State extended the lead to three on a mad scramble that saw Neumann's goalie make a nice poke check on a break away, however the puck fell right onto Roux's stick and he outmaneuveredthe down and out goalie to finish off the scramble with his second goal of the game.
