Connecticut Rallies Past Hofstra 7-5

Two goal third period helps the Huskies pull away

Glastonbury, CT- Kyle Manny scored a hat trick and added an assists to pace Connecticut past Hofstra 7-5 on Sunday morning at the ZRink.
 
Pat Rosa (Bohemia, NY) didn't wait long to start thie scoring, finding the back of the net just ten seconds into the contest to put Connecticut in an early hole. Devin Dee (Davis, CA) extended the lead a few minutes later giving Hofstra a comfortable early lead. Tyler DaSilva (Waterbury, CT) and Michael Scardigno (Lindenhurst, NY) then exchanged goals just 17 seconds apart to keep the Hofstra lead at two. Just 19 seconds later, Conrad Alicki (Middletown, CT) scored to cut the lead in half and continue the flurry of goals.
 
Kyle Manny (Marlton, NJ) scored the first of his three goals to get things back even toward the end of the first period. However, Devin Gee scored his second of the game to give Hofstra the 4-3 lead after one period.
 
Cody Gabor (Glastonbury, CT) scored on the Power Play in his hometown to tie things up in the early stages of the second period. It was another man advantage that led to the next goal as Tyer DaSilva scored to put the Huskies on top for the first time in the game at 5-4. Chris Culot (Billerica, MA) made sure that it didn't stay that way long as he scored late in the second period to send the game into the third tied.
 
In the third period, Connecticut took over and took things to Hofstra. However, it took until the final four minutes of the game before Kyle Manny scored to give the Huskies the lead. It was Manny who eventually scored again to give the final margin of 7-5 and to complete the hat trick.
