Mount Pleasant, PA - Dustin Roux and Clayton Black both scored two goals to lead Penn State past Central Florida 5-3. Roux and Black scored 19 seconds apart late in the first period to give the Nittany Lions a shocking 2-0 lead after one period of play.
Adam Weinburg found Cesar Aguirre less than two minutes into the second period and Aguirre made no mistake, cutting the Penn State lead in half. However, Black had an answer for the Central Florida goal by scoring his second goal of the game and extending the Nittany Lion lead to 3-1. Brandon Reich scored late in the second period to trim the lead back to 1 heading into the third and final period.
Penn State came out on fire in the third period and refused to give into the Golden Knights. Richie Carelli and Dustin Roux scored goals early in the period and gave Penn State a commanding 5-2 lead with plenty of hockey to play.
With a huge upset in the making, Penn State only allowed one goal the rest of the way by Adam Weinburg late in the contest and held on for a 5-3 victory.
Central Florida will finish up their trip north with two tilts on Sunday against Pittsburgh and Michigan.
