Shippensburg, PA – Last weekend the Raiders were on the road
with three huge games with playoff implications. In the first game the Raiders
used a relentless offensive attack to bury Scranton and skate away with a 16-0
victory. In the second game, the Raiders took on #1 ranked Neumann College in a
close back and forth battle before giving up the go ahead goal with two minutes
remaining. Neumann would pot two more goals in the final minute, going home
with an 8-5 victory. In the final game of the weekend, conference rival Temple
was raring to go. Temple held a two goal lead heading into the third period
before the Raiders ripped off five straight goals on the way to a 5-2 victory.
The Raiders head into the weekend with a strong chance to
win the Keystone Conference Championship. The championship would be the first
in the six-year history of the team, and the first Keystone champion ever. The Raiders
will win the Keystone winning either two games or by winning one game and have
Slippery Rock lose one game. If the Raiders and Temple remain tied in first
place, the Raiders would hold the tiebreakers with two wins this season, 3-1
and 5-2.
