ECRHA All-Stars Announced
Games To Be Played Saturday
ECRHA January 28th, 2008 at 4:55PM January 29th, 2008 3:03AM
For the 6th straight year, the Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey
Association’s annual All-Star Event will be held at the Sportsplex in
Feasterville, PA. This year, All-Stars from Division I, Division II,
and the B Division will square off.
To select the players for this year’s games, each team nominated one forward, one defenseman, and a goaltender. Peers and coaches were then able to vote for the most deserving of these nominees, with the top vote-getters earning a starting spot.
In DI, Team New Metro’s starting line of Rutgers’ Jeff Grabowski, Rhode Island’s Bryan Eriksen and Chris Manchester, and Stony Brook’s Jim Tamburino poses a big offensive threat. Both Tamburino and Eriksen are averaging over three points per game. Backstopped by starting netminder Dave Bord, also of Rhode Island, Team New Metro’s starting lineup looks very impressive.
Team Mid-Western also boasts a talented roster. With a starting line of Penn State’s Corey Calajoe, Towson’s Josh Stein and Mike Inge, and Matt Luttrell from Pittsburgh, they will have no problem keeping up with Team New Metro. Calajoe and Stein are also pulling in about three points per game. Standing in as the last line of defense is veteran goaltender Matt Vensel, who comes into the game with a gaudy 89.9 save percentage.
DI will prove to be a very exciting matchup as both squads are stacked with talent. Congratulations to all who were selected!

The starting goaltending for both teams looks exceptionally strong. Dan Hogan of West Chester comes into the game with a remarkably low goals-against average of 2.04 and a save percentage of 88 while Luke Brind’Amour is touting a 91.7 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.83.

The B Division All-Star game looks like it’ll be a shootout. Team Central’s roster lists five of the division’s top seven scorers and one of the top statistical goalies in Andrew Perkins. Team South will definitely have its hands full, but with a strong defense and solid goaltending, this game could come down to the wire.
