Welcome to the website of the Drexel University Roller Hockey Club. If you?ve spotted a flyer on campus, or seen a chalked side walk, or heard about the DURHC in an orientation session and came to this site, then you?ve done the right thing. You made it just in time to get prepared for the upcoming season. This website is the sole source of information for our club. In the next few weeks we?ll be having a bundle of preseason events, culminating with tryouts.

Wednesday, September 24^th Activities Unlimited, 12-2pm
DURHC leaders will have a table set up in the Quad to attract prospective members for the 2003-2004 season. Come visit!

Tuesday, September 30^th Welcome Back Meeting, 9-10pm
All current and prospective members of the DURHC are required to attend this info session for the 2003-2004 season. This meeting will be held in the DAC media room, which can be found by: Walking in the front doors of the DAC, following the stairs down on the right hand side, making a left at the bottom of the stairs through a large set of doors, walking until you hit a room at the end of the hallway. Signs will be posted.

Saturday, October 4^th Tryouts
Tryouts will be held at Fun Spot in Aston, PA. Everyone trying out for the club is required to pay a one time, non-refundable fee of $10.00 each year. All prospective members of the DURHC are required to arrive at the rink by 12:00pm. Registration will take place from 12:00-12:30pm. Tryouts will begin at 1:00pm, with three sessions of 1.5 hours each. Everyone trying out will partake in one of the first two sessions, with spots filled for each session based on order of arrival. A select number will be invited back for the third session to fill out the A and B team rosters. Remaining members will be selected and required to attend the first C and D team practice on Tuesday, October 7 to finalize rosters. Please plan on staying at the rink from 12:00pm until all necessary tryout sessions are complete. Everyone will need to fill out several pieces of paperwork so if you leave, your spot will be promptly be given to someone else.

As for the preseason skates you can see the dates for them listed on the calendar to the right. If you?ve got your skates on campus, and you plan on playing?throw some outdoor wheels on your skates, and get back in shape skating the Schuylkill river trail. Don't worry if it's been a while since you've skated, show up anyway. We've got four teams in the club, so start early...and increase your chances of getting on a team. Lastly, don't forget to join our mailing list by signing up in the right hand column. This way, you'll be sure to get reminders about the upcoming events. If you have any questions, save them for the preseason meeting so everyone can hear your questions.
