Three Coaches Introduced for 2005-2006 Season

   The defending Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association DII Champion Hofstra Pride will add a few new pieces to the puzzle during the upcoming ECRHA season. During it's tryouts, Hofstra introduced 3 new coaches to the players and fans in attendance. Derek Kern, Dave Mosenson, and Bryan Russo will join the 40 players on the roster this season in competing for 3 different ECRHA championships.
 
   Derek Kern comes to Hofstra University as the Head Coach after working this past year with State Wars. Derek spent the 2004-2005 hockey season playing in the United Hockey League with the Kansas City Outlaws, collecting 7 goals, 12 assists, and 118 penalty minutes in 71 games. In the past, he has also played with Winston-Salem T-birds in the SEHL and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the CHL. He played 4 years of NCAA ice hockey at SUNY-Oswego. This past summer, Derek was named to the 2005 USA Hockey InLine National Team Roster, which represented the United States at the 2005 International Ice Hockey Federation InLine Hockey World Championship in Kuopio, Finland.
 
   Dave Mosenson enters his second year with the Hofstra University Roller Hockey Club. Moving from last season's Special Assistant position to Associate Head Coach this year, he will work with Derek Kern is solidifying the Pride's already explosive offensive system. He comes to Hofstra after coaching at Syosset High School, where he posted an 18-2 record in his final season with the Braves. Dave is also the co-founder of The Jeffrey Mosenson Memorial Fund, a charitable foundation that has been organized to develop major projects that will help with the training and education of Firemen, Policemen, EMT's, Paramedics and other emergency medical personnel.    Bryan Russo joins the coaching staff after an extensive stay at Hofstra University, coupled with a three year playing career. Russo served as the captain of the B team for 2 straight years before graduating. A leader on the blue line for the Pride, Russo finished his career with 13 goals, 6 assists, and 34 penalty minutes.
