Slippery Rock University and Farmingdale State College will meet in Grove City, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 for a best-of-three series with the winner taking home the 2019-2020 Division 1 Regional Championship. Slippery Rock defeated Farmingdale in three out of five meetings this season, giving them the right to host this season's Regional Championship.

Two of Slippery Rock’s three victories came in shootout fashion with Gannon Warrick scoring both game winning goals. In the five game regular season series between the clubs, Warrick had the most goals and points scored by anyone on the Pride totalling five goals and nine points. Player of the Year finalist Ian Edwards comes into the postseason as the team leader in points (42) and is one of two players on either side to have at least 20 goals and 20 assists during the regular season. Since the calendar has flipped to 2020, Goaltender of the Year finalist Alec Volz has allowed five or more goals in five of Slippery Rock’s last eight games. Volz allowed just 19 goals during the first semester and has allowed 28 tallies in those five games.

On the Farmingdale side, Jake Corso did not play in the opening game of this five game set, but still recorded nine assists and twelve points for the most by anyone on the Rams in either category. Along with Corso, Player of the Year finalist Joey DiMartino did not play in the first game of their five game regular season series, but happens to be the other player to come into Regionals with at least 20 goals and 20 assists. DiMartino and Luke Rosendale of Slippery Rock are the only two players to record multiple points in each game they played in. Goaltender of the Year finalist Michael Santos has yet to face Slippery Rock this season, but his numbers have been great since becoming Farmingdale’s main goaltender. Santos has allowed seven goals in six games and is averaging over 14 saves per game.
