<![CDATA[Elephants Never Forget]]> The NCRHA Division II Championship Game was everything roller hockey fans could ask for.

An unexpected matchup between two very different teams from opposite ends of the country pitted two teams that, despite their differences, had similar paths to get to the final round. Both CSU Fullerton and the University of Tennessee pulled out one-goal wins over conference rivals in the Elite Eight, and then won one-goal thrillers with less than 10 seconds left in the Final Four.

<![CDATA[Lions Continue Division III Dominance]]> When you think of NCRHA Division III roller hockey, there's one team on everyone's radar before all others: Lindenwood University. That's what happens when your program has become synonymous with success; Lindenwood entered the 2017 National Championships having won the past six Division III titles, and in total, 12 DIII National Titles -- not too shabby for a division that's crowned a champion 13 times.

<![CDATA[West Valley Caps off Successful Season]]> There was no doubt that West Valley College went into the 2016-17 season with the goal of contending for another National Championship, just as they had the year before. A program building off of a successful inaugural campaign, including a trip to Cedar Rapids and a Junior College National Runner-Up finish at the 2016 National Collegiate Roller Hockey Championships, was now building something much bigger this time around.

<![CDATA[Ram Tough]]> By: Ian Prescott (NCRHA Coast 2 Coast)

Let’s set the scene for the DI National Championship game: On one side is Lindenwood, a team who, despite their lengthy pedigree, was looking to get back to their former glory. Lindenwood had never gone three consecutive years without winning a Championship. The Lions were led into the championship game by the trio of Adam Swims, Jalen Krogman and Trenton Matteson, who were looking to return the team to its spot on top of the NCRHA’s pinnacle.

Division II moves into the Elite 8 tonight with games beginning at 7pm. Here are each of the individual matchups for the quarterfinal round.

Stony Brook University Seawolves v. University of Arkansas Razorbacks
Stony Brook has taken an improbable route to this moment. They had to defeat a good DePaul team and now have to face an Arkansas team who is fresh off defeating their conference rival Louisiana Tech.

<![CDATA[2nd Period Surge Helps RIT Remain Perfect, Win D4 Title]]> The RIT Tigers and Syracuse Orange were our last match of the weekend, but they were definitely ready to put on a show for those who remained at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, with the winner taking home the ECRHA Division Four Championship.

As the game started, we saw Syracuse control play to begin the game, the Orange’s offense had been on fire throughout the weekend, but through 4 minutes they could not get one past RIT’s Orcutt.

<![CDATA[Huskies Assert Dominance, Claim ECRHA D2 Crown]]> The ECRHA Division Two final saw the Huskies of Northeastern square off with the Lakers of Oswego, both teams taking very contrasting trips to get to the final. Northeastern, cruising through both Yeshiva and Endicott 6-1 and 6-3. Meanwhile, Oswego got knocked into the loser’s bracket in round one, found themselves gifted a forfeit victory due to Yeshiva’s religious circumstances, then upset the number one seeded Stony Brook Seawolves, followed by revenge on Endicott in the loser’s final.

<![CDATA[Division 3 Farmingdale Cap Season With Championship]]> As Saturday night came upon us, only two teams remained in Division Three. The undefeated juggernaut that was Farmingdale, and a Rowan team who had made a run through the loser’s bracket, and was playing their sixth game of the weekend.

As the puck got dropped, Farmingdale wasted no time to put pressure on the Profs and show them that they would need to play their best hockey to maintain balance.

Sun, 05 Mar 2017 11:54:00 CST
<![CDATA[Farmingdale Wins D1 Crown]]> The storyline saga continued.

We knew the time, the place, and the teams involved, and all that was left was for Neumann and Farmingdale to battle for 36 minutes to determine the ECRHA D1 Champion. Could the two powerhouses match their intense game in the winner’s final, well they may have done just that, if not better.

Sun, 05 Mar 2017 11:37:00 CST
<![CDATA[Oswego Continues Improbable D2 Run]]> Division 2 got increasingly interesting courtesy of our loser’s semi-final matchup between Stony Brook and Oswego. Stony Brook, the number one seed coming into this weekend, was fresh off of a win against Penn State earlier this morning, while Oswego was granted a forfeit victory over Yeshiva. Oswego wanted to show to Stony Brook that they meant business, and they did so, with two goals coming from Joe Cosme in the first period at 2:03 and 10:55, the Lakers made a certain case that they wanted to make the loser’s final.

<![CDATA[Farmingdale will meet Neumann in the D1 Championship]]> “Game of the weekend” has been thrown around a few times throughout friday and Saturday. But the D1 winner’s final between Farmingdale and Neumann certainly takes the cake so far.

With Neumann coming off a lopsided victory against Rhode Island last night, and Farmingdale scoring late to beat West Chester, and the interactions these two teams have had the last two years, everyone knew this was the game to watch.

<![CDATA[Division 4 finishes Pool Play, Bracket Set]]> With four games remaining in division four, there was a lot still to be settled before we could begin bracket play later today. RIT and Syracuse, as well as Millersville and Lock Haven, both matching up for bye’s in the bracket. As well as Cornell, Niagara, Farmingdale, and St. Joseph’s fighting for their lives, and 3rd in their respective pools to make it into our single elimination bracket.

<![CDATA[Early Morning Action Makes D1-3 Brackets Clearer]]> As Saturday came upon us, no team had be eliminated in any division Friday. Each still came in today with a chance of coming out hot today and making a statement for an ECRHA Championship.

The day kicked off with a pair of loser’s round one matchups in D3. Rowan looked to bounce back after a tough loss to Neumann yesterday, while Hofstra was looking to get their wheels turning.

<![CDATA[Division 1 Fall Recap]]> If you want to watch incredible roller hockey with the chance of a highlight reel play, a miraculous upset, or incredible scoring, just stop by for any ECRHA Division 1 matchup this Spring. <![CDATA[Division 2 Fall Recap]]> New faces are appearing at the top of the D2 standings and showing that although some may be new to D2, they are not to be slept on moving towards the end of the season. Division 2 is probably the most diverse division as of the end of the Fall semester in the ECRHA, however, that by no means indicates that it is smooth sailing to the Regional Championships for some of these teams.

<![CDATA[Division 3 Fall Recap]]> If there’s a way to describe Division 3 in the ECRHA, that phrase would probably be, “New Faces.” This year, we saw Division 3’s teams go down to 6 teams. Because of the relatively low amount, all six teams will make the Regional Championships in March. Now, D3 is in the same boat as Division 1 and 2, as they will be ridding of the former pool play playoff format, in exchange for a double elimination bracket setting.

<![CDATA[Division 4 Fall Recap]]> Division Four this year in the ECRHA could possibly be the closest and most unfinished division heading into the Spring Semester. With anywhere from six to eight games remaining for the teams, 10 points is the difference between RIT who currently sits atop the division, and 10th place Vermont. So needless to say, the race to Regionals is far from over for all of these teams.
